Consulting & Advising

After almost 15 years conducting research, I have learned some things. As an independent consultant, I work with both firms and individuals to provide content and industry expertise. Here, I share some samples of the type of work I do outside my research- and work-related responsibilities.

Graduate Admissions

For several years, I have worked with prospective graduate students to gain admission to doctoral, medical, law, and social work programs. Through working one-on-one and one-on-few, my students have gained admission to top programs in their respective fields across the United States. Importantly, I work to position my students to have choices. To do so, I have developed content to help students identify optimal application strategies from program identification through offer negotiation. Check out these Twitter threads (here and here) highlighting where some of my prospective PhD students are heading in Fall 2021! Interested in working together? Let's talk!

OPT4STEM (Von Steuben Metropolitan High School, Chicago Public Schools)

With students and staff at Von Steuben, among other community stakeholders, I created STEM learning opportunities for high schoolers. Learn more about this program here.

Thinking Money for Kids (FINRA Foundation and ALA)

Hired by Jeff Kennedy Associates, Inc., I provided content expertise during the development of a traveling exhibition designed to immerse children 7-11 years and their parents in a financial literature experience. Learn more about this exhibit here.
